Wow... Where do I begin with this? Well... I guess
for starters, this is one freaky ass movie. I'll admit, it starts off rather
slowly, but does it get intense! I'm going to try to keep this one spoiler free
because this is one movie that really should needs to be seen and figured out
for one's self..
Well, I'll start out with the obvious part of the movie: it's a ghost story.
But there's more to it than that and THAT's the part I don't want to give away.
And the thing is that you'd THINK that the movie quiets down once you figure
it out... oh man, but that's where you're wrong... I had most of it figured
out half way through and I still found myself clinging to the arm rests of my
chair. I tell you the movie is THAT intense.
The acting was beautiful. Although at first it seems like Nicole Kidman's character
is a bit over done, it actually works and at times I began to wonder if she
was the only sane person in the creepy old house... or is it the kids who are
sane? Or the new house keeper, maybe? Or is Anne the one who's crazy for seeing
ghosts? The plot twists in this movie abound.
Alakina Mann, the girl who plays Anne, by the way, is phenominal! But then Anne's
character and the whole story, for that matter, is very well written. This is
a movie I'd recommend to anyone who enjoys a good scare without all the blood
and guts that goes along with most horror movies today.
