The Creepy Guy...

So I'm sitting here in the comic book store, working, minding my own business, when in walks this guy... with gardener's gloves on...

I tell you, this guy was a creep! I spent about 20 minutes looking through the art books, then mosied himself over to talk to me. He just stood there, in front of the counter talking to me about how much he loved the ocean. How much he liked ocean food. What my sign was. Completely agreeing with everything I said...

::shudder::

He just would NOT go away. He kept staring at me and telling me how much he loved the ocean. I even suggested that he go down to Santa Monica, which he agreed to, but that didn't get him moving...

Fortunately, for me another customer came into the store and helped me out. It took a while though... The new guy suggested that the guy rent a car to drive down the ocean. The creepy guy told me he liked movies with Leslie Neelson. I told him I didn't particulary care for Leslie Neelson movies and the guy AGREED with me. I told him I liked Lord of the Rings. He said he'd heard it was a good movie. I suggested that he find his way down to Hollywood where it was still showing and go see it. NOTHING WORKED.

Have I mentioned that this guy was a creep? I wasn't even willing to get out from behind the counter while he was standing there. So when this new guy (who was a regular) came in... I got up and deliberately started straightening shelves, doing my best to ignore the creepy guy. So what does he do? He just STANDS THERE IN FRONT OF THE COUNTER!!!

Well, finally, the new guy asks me if I'm closing at 4:30... this was at about 4:25... I tell him yes, I have an appointment... Creepy guy asks me how he could get to Santa Monica. I tell him to take the 101 to Malibu and then head down PCH (You really expected me to give this guy accurate directions?) and he leaves. The new guy in the store and I talk about Creepy for a while and then he leaves, popping back in to inform me that Creepy is heading down the street.

Now to make me feel even worse about the whole situation, the lady in the shop next door just called to find out if Creepy was still here. Apparantly this guy had gone in there looking for directions to some place on Magnolia. Creepy also told the woman next door that he was driving a truck, well there was no truck outside....

::double shudder::

It's days like this when I really hate working here...

Death Threats...

I just thought I'd take a moment to inform everyone that I've just received my first death threat while working the dreggs of customer service. Woman said she'd kill everyone if we didn't cancel her account.... It was really disturbing, mostly because she was one of those people who get quiet when their angry. ::shudder::

Of to send her confirmation now...
