We have no control over what happens to us. And those who think they do need therapy stat. The world is constantly spinning out of control and all we can do is either hand on hope we survive or let go and leave this existance behind.
When doling out the inaliable truths of the universe; inflation, age, and so on, we forget the most important ones: Promises will be broken; darkness will always swallow what is good; and fighting is useless.
So why do we do it? Why do we fight on against unfavorable odds? Is it because we think there's something worth fighting for? Is it because we think there might be some hope of winning? You tell me.
It is the nature of humanity to destroy itself. Promises cannot be kept because a promise is forever; a concept that escapes most people. And those few who grasp the concept know better.
This is why love cannot last. Love is a promise; something that's supposed to last forever. But forever is too long a time for anything to last. Eventually, it will wither and die; whether it be twenty years or 50 centuries from now. It cannot last. And, more often than not, the promise of love claims more victims than any other force in the world.
But, then, what is the point of living? That's the greatest practical joke of all: living is man's futile attempt to escape the futility of the universe. Unfortunatly, those who live become trapped in the downward spiral and forced to ride on until the end; lest they be thrown and killed prematurely.
In the end, the universe is a paradox and we are it's victims.
